18 months ago, my friend Norma passed away and we had spent many hours while she was ill with bowel/ovarian cancer, chatting about life and
death. She was like family to me - her daughter is my best friend - but her daughter did not have the understanding of what was happening to her Mother, all
she knew was that she was very ill and she had watched her Mum suffer, so Norma loved me being around because she knew I could tell her things and make her
easier about her fate. One evening, we rang my friend to ask how her Mum was doing as I hadn't seen her for over a week, and we were told she was very
poorly, so I sent out prayers for her to suffer no more and for peace for her poor Daughter. During the night, I was wakened by her voice speaking to me, clear
as day, and she told me to go downstairs as I would waken my DH, who had to get up for work the following morning. I did as she said and went into the kitchen
to put a cuppa on - she was so clear that I asked her if she wanted one ( silly me ) and she laughed. She told me to make a note of the time she woke me - it
was 3.15am - then I went into the lounge and sat down. She talked about her life, gave me messages to prove to her daughter that I wasn't lying or making
it up, stuff that only they knew between them. I asked her why she had come so soon, and she reminded me that I had asked her to come back and give me ultimate
proof of life after death ( I just hadn't expected her to turn up right after she'd passed !! ). We must have been in deep conversation for around 20
minutes. Then she said she had to go, but she would be around if I needed her.
I couldn't get back to sleep - no way - so I sat down here until DH got up at 5.30am. The phone rang and it was her Grandson - when he spoke to me I told
him I knew all about it, as I had had his Gran here for over 20 minutes right after she had died - at 3.15am - and he went quiet, confirmed she had died, and
asked me to ring his Mum later because I was scaring him. Later on, I rang her Daughter and relayed everything that had been told to me - and she was amazed
and comforted by it. That must have been the MOST amazing thing I have ever experienced in my life as a medium.
The year before, I had lost my Great Aunt, who I cared for , for many years. She was 96 years old, and had been diagnosed with a brain tumour 3 months earlier,
and one day I arrived to see her and she was still in her day clothes from the day before, just lay on her bed, with no control over any of her limbs. The
tumour was taking hold. For months my Aunt had complained about a radio being left on somewhere in the evenings and said what thing for someone to do. We found
it strange because she lived in a large detached bungalow, so her neighbours were quite a way away, and she couldn't possibly be hearing anything, we just
put it down to the tumour playing tricks on her mind. On the second night she was ill, my sister and I were there, as we had promised her that we would nurse
her and she would not have to go back into hospital ( she wanted to die at home, and I was determined her wish would come true ). It was around 11pm, and we
were drinking cups of tea and talking, when suddenly, we heard the sound of music and someone singing - just like a radio being played. We gingerly made our
way to the back door and unlocked it to see if there was anyone in the large back garden, but there was no explanation for it at all - it freaked my sister out
as she is the total opposite of me, and anything like this scares her.
We realised that it hadn't been in her imagination at all - that she really HAD heard the songs she kept telling us about ( wartime songs ).
On the night she died, we were prepared for it, and I had been sitting with her for a couple of hours, and went into the lounge. My sister said she wanted to
nip home and freshen up and my DH was there too. She went into the bedroom to check on Aunty before she left, and came back into the lounge to say she
wasn't going home as her breathing had changed. WE sat with her until 9.45pm, and my DH came through to the bedroom and said he was popping home - he was
convinced that she wouldn't ' go ' while he was in the house - and he hadn't even got to our front door ( a 2 minute drive away ) when she drew
her last breath. I had to ring him to come back and bring the children, as they wanted to pay their respects. He had to wait for them to get up and get ready,
and my sister and I left the bedroom and went to ring the Doctor from the hallway. We could see her body from where we were standing, in the muted light, and
suddenly we saw her ' Soul ' lift from her body, hover in front of the wardrobe for about 30 seconds, then it was gone. It was like a white misty
shape, but the way it was shaped made it obvious it was Aunty. I felt really moved by the experience, but my sister totally freaked out, she was shivering and
crying and I had to comfort her as she was in total shock. It was a truly amazing experience and I wouldn't have missed it for the world.
Those are just 2 of the many stories of experiences I have had over the years, and it does make things so much easier when people have faith in life after
death.

two wonderful and heart-warming anecdotes, Wendy.
