I was telling a friend who I haven't seen for months about my discoveries and awakening spirituality. I told her about the spiritual view of the afterlife
and how our spirits return to the earth again and again, to learn the lessons and have the experiences we need for our own personal development and ascension.
"Utter rubbish!", she declared! "No-one would accept, let alone choose to return here to a thoroughly miserable life and what possible positive lessons could you learn from, say, the experience of that poor girl in Austria who was kept in a cellar since she was a young girl and continually raped by her father, and left imprisoned down there for years until discovered - with all the resultant children who had never seen anything except the cellar!"
I was dumbfounded and didn't have a reasonable answer.
I have been pondering it ever since, and wondered what you all thought.....
